Diageo Mexico ranks 35th in Merco Empresas 2025

Diageo Mexico climbed to 35th place in the Merco Empresas 2025 ranking, after ranking 71st in 2024. This result represents the highest position achieved by the company in this monitor and consolidates it as one of the most recognized for its corporate reputation in the country, driven by its focus on innovation, sustainability and social responsibility.over the last five years, Diageo has remained in the top 80 of Merco Empresas, a constant presence that demonstrates the strength of its strategy and its ability to generate a positive impact on Mexican society.

Merco Empresas: an international reputation benchmark

Merco (Monitor Empresarial de Reputación Corporativa), a benchmark in Latin America since 2000, evaluates corporate reputation through a methodology audited by KPMG under the ISAE 3000 standard. The process integrates more than twenty sources of information and six evaluations with the participation of financial analysts, NGOs, consumer associations, trade unions, specialized journalists, academics, social media managers and government representatives.

Among the variables evaluated were business results, environmental sustainability, ethics and corporate responsibility, innovation, communication, quality of products and services, as well as commitment to the community and the country.

Spirit of Progress 2030: the road to sustainability

Diageo’s rise in the ranking is supported by its Spirit of Progress 2030 global plan, which guides its operations in Mexico with a focus on sustainability and innovation.

Among its efforts to contribute to social development, this year marked the 10th anniversary of Learning for Life (L4L), its hospitality program for bartenders. Diageo also promoted awareness and inclusion of the LGBT+ community, highlighting its participation in the “Colores” exhibition at the Museo Memoria y Tolerancia during PRIDE month, along with various environmental care projects.

The company has also strengthened its corporate reputation through Positive Drinking initiatives and responsible drinking education programs, making inclusion and diversity central to its organizational culture.
