Rappi turns 10 and cements its position as Mexico’s largest and most diverse digital ecosystem

A decade of operations in Mexico, with nationwide reach in 110+ cities.

In 2015, Rappi arrived in Mexico with a clear idea: to make people’s lives easier with fast, convenient deliveries. Ten years later, that vision has evolved into a super app that connects millions of users with thousands of local businesses, impacting consumption, employment, and the digitalization of commerce in the country.

Growth and coverage

+23 million downloads in Mexico.
~700 million orders processed since launch.
Presence in 110+ cities, the widest delivery coverage in the country.

These milestones position Rappi as a benchmark for on-demand commerce in Mexico, with a stance the brand describes as a “digital ecosystem” due to the variety of verticals and partnerships it integrates.

Habits and consumer culture

The platform is now part of everyday life: users in Mexico have ordered more than 50 million hamburgers, 46 million pizzas, and 25 million taco orders. Its user base also skews toward younger generations (Gen Z and Millennials), reinforcing adoption of on-demand purchase models.

Economic impact and business alliances

150,000+ merchant partners in Mexico; 1 in 4 partner restaurants is a top-selling local brand.

En el marco de la reforma laboral para plataformas, Rappi reporta avances en la integración de repartidores al IMSS y un total histórico de 1.2 millones de repartidores registrados a lo largo de su operación en el país.

Couriers and most active cities

Deliveries have surpassed 700 million. According to recent reports, 70% of couriers connect at least once a month. The most active cities are Mexico City, Guadalajara, Monterrey, Mérida, and Puebla.

Innovation: Turbo as a differentiator

Turbo currently operates in multiple cities: convenience purchases, restaurants, and pharmacies in minutes.

Since 2021, Rappi Turbo has redefined delivery times with an average of 10 minutes and a record of 3.9 minutes. It currently operates in at least 10 cities and has scaled into formats such as Turbo Restaurants, Fresh, and Pharmacies, enabling grocery and convenience deliveries in ≤10 minutes and meals in ~15 minutes.

“Celebrating these 10 years is the perfect opportunity to recognize what we have built and to project the impact we want to keep generating. We are a technology company, yes, but also a platform of real stories: couriers who find income, businesses that grow, and users who gain time and quality of life.”

— Iván Cadavid, CEO of Rappi Mexico

What’s next

The company announced plans to accelerate Turbo’s expansion and strengthen capabilities with AI, while continuing to integrate couriers into the social security system as regulation for digital platforms advances.

Rappi maintains that its differentiating value lies in operating as an ecosystem: it brings together local commerce, financial services, travel, and ultra-fast deliveries in a single experience. Its challenge is to keep scaling with service quality, sustainability, and labor protections aligned with the new regulations.
